Video Peek of the Week: Chris Jordan Photography

chris-jordan Where do all those "things" you bring into your home go when you no longer want them? Do you recycle them, repurpose them, or give them away to someone else to use? Chris Jordan is a Seattle based photographer who brings the scale of our consumerism, spending and big  "throw-away lifestyles" into focus. Click on the link to the left to watch: “The Numbers – A Visualization.” Watch it with the kids in your life, it will shock you and humble you. Did you know that in the US we use 106,000 aluminum cans every 30 seconds, and that we only recycle 50% of those cans? For a more complete look at Chris Jordan’s work in this series, you can also check out his website and view,  “Running the Numbers ;" you will think twice before you throw away another water bottle, cell phone or even a bag of garbage. We have incredible power and we need to think wisely how we both use it and abuse it!
