It’s a wRAP April 16, 2010: Melting Glaciers, Endangered Species & Rap Videos

shutterstock_1852124Lots of climate change information in the news this week, from melting glaciers and tsunamis to threatened and endangered “Lego” creatures, the power of you and music videos, so lets get started. On the news front we witnessed the power of nature and climate change in action, as a melting glacier in Peru caused a 75 foot tsunami to devastate villages and a water treatment plant servicing over 60,000 people. At the Philadelphia Zoo, a special Lego exhibit opened on April 10th, in honor of Earth Day. The exhibit showcases animals endangered and threatened by human actions, including climate change. Are you or your kids “rap stars” in the making?” Even if you don’t think you can “carry a tune”, but if you want to have a little fun and would  like to showcase your concern about climate change and the need for clean energy, listen up! Repower America is making it really easy to make and then post a music video on their website, but hurry up, you need to do it by midnight on April 18th!! Remember that TODAY, April 16th, is the first opportunity to participate in The Climate Summit, check out the live feed beginning at 9am Pacific Time.

In the News this week we bring you a look at new way to heat your home and get rid of your garbage at the same time.
