Letterman, Climate Change and Bill McKibben – Video Peek of the Week

Thursday, September 2nd, 2010

Watch David Letterman “explain” climate change to Bill McKibben, Founder of 350.org, and author of Eaarth: Making a life on a Tough New Planet. Dave tells us why climate change is happening and wants to know what we can do about it! Longer than our normal “Video Peeks,” watch Dave with the kids in your life, as he takes a “slightly” less irreverent look at why we are “heating up.”

On September 7th, Bill McKibben and a team of college students will start their “solar panel road trip,” driving (in a bio diesel car) from Maine to the White House, to see if President Obama will “step back in time” and put the solar panels that were up on the White House 31 YEARS AGO, back up!  (Maybe President Obama can even find a more updated model, if not, the old ones should do just fine!) Ask your college kids what their campus is doing on 10/10/10 for the global work party on climate change, better yet, tell them (and us) what you are doing!

You care about what’s happening to the world and notice small changes in your own life that seem to point in the direction of a threatened environment. But you wonder if these changes are real, and if they are you can’t imagine what you can do to help change what is happening.
